Brian Babcock President
Brian is the inventor of Surnetics’ gradient coating technology and a founder of Surnetics. He has experience in all phases of technology/new business development and commercialization. Prior to founding Surnetics, he worked extensively in developing and commercializing new technologies into both consumer and industrial markets for companies including Donaldson Company and Kimberly-Clark. He also has seven years of “mad scientist” experience working on nuclear reactor designs at Argonne National Laboratory in Chicago, IL, and developing specialty electrodeposited coatings and structures for NASA, Department of Defense, and aerospace customers in Huntsville, AL. Brian has extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes as well as an extensive knowledge of the capabilities of many material suppliers. As a registered patent agent and former Intellectual Property manager for Donaldson Company, he is also experienced in developing and analyzing patent portfolios for their commercial, technical, and legal value. Mr. Babcock has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in chemical engineering from Vanderbilt University.
